General Chemistry

Part II: Sections VII-XII

(Emphasis is on solubility, acids and bases, titration curves, equilibrium, thermochemistry, and chemical kinetics)

At the beginning of each of the 12 sections in the General Chemistry Review Books (2016 edition) is a page outlining selected equations, facts, concepts, and shortcuts that might be helpful for that particular section. After reading the text in each section and completing the accompanying MCAT-style passages, we feel that you will have a better conceptual understanding of the material important to the general chemistry found in the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Bilogical Systems of the MCAT.

Section VII: Solubility

This section aims to reaquaint you with solubility fundamentals.

Passages and Solutions

Section VII includes 16 free-standing questions and 6 MCAT-style passages with detailed solutions. Passage topics are centered around information important to solubility.

Section VIII: Acids and Bases

This section aims to reaquaint you with the terminology of acids and bases, types of acids and bases, calculating pH, and conjugate pairs.
